I woke up this morning listening to the rain. Pitter patter, pitter patter, an occasional ping against the window, and my body was lullaby-ed by that easy pace of gentle, constant rain, kind of warm, kind of not, me inside, the rain outside. Pitter patter, pitter patter.
My body felt the cool air when I got out of bed and I grabbed my bathrobe and wrapped it around me. It didn't change the cool air, only the way I 'felt' it.
I washed last night's dishes and felt the warm water on my hands, much different than the cold temperature of the plates that had waited in the cool room. They didn't complain about the cool or the warm, they simply allowed themselves to be washed and set to dry in the cool room.
My cat jumped onto my lap and wrapped herself in a circle. I pet her and she purred. I could feel her purring in my thighs and belly. She and I go back eleven years. We've traveled the globe together and our way of being together evolved as we got to know each other. She wasn't just a cat, she was Obie Wan, and since she had fought four german shepherds for the right to be my cat I must have had some particular quality she wanted. Certainly, she has taught me many things, not only how smart cats are but the very fact that they, too, can control their predatory instincts when necessary!
Perhaps in the wee hours of the night I'd heard thunder and that is why I woke this morning with the visual representation of clear thought and explicit action as a lightening bolt!
Stunning. Straightforward. Precise. Unequivocal. Every particle of our being energized, aligned, streamlined. Like Bolt running in the Olympics.
It wasn't the 'win' that capitvated us, excited our imagination, made our hearts pound and our voices cheer. Rather it was his completely uninhibited body moving in complete harmony at full speed. His body was fully cognizant, fully energized, fully free to maximize its intelligence, power and personality.
Pure body in unequivocal, pure motion. Mind, body and spirit, one unified energetic field of clear thought and explicit action!
